Wire shelving has become extremely popular in both warehouse and personal applications over the past several years. Typically, not as durable as industrial steel shelving, wire shelving is extremely easy to assemble, easy to clean, and is very customizable. They come in many different widths and depths and can contain any number of shelves. It is an open style of shelving, meaning that inventory can be accessed from all sides.
Wire shelving are very versatile. These shelves can be used for both residential and commercial use. Wire shelves are durable and can store heavier items while increasing storage space. They are easier to clean compared to other shelving options. This shelving is designed to stop dust from building up making it ideal for the electronic, healthcare, and food storage industries. Should a fire breakout at your facility the openings will not block the water from ceiling sprinkler systems. The lightweight design makes for easy transportation around storage/distribution centers and warehouses.
Each shelf of wire shelving contains a circular opening in each corner where the rounded uprights are fed through. Plastic clips are put on each leg of the upright at the same height, and each shelf rests on them. Usually, the uprights contain an indent every inch, to which the plastic clips secure. Although no tools are required, a rubber mallet is recommended for gently taping down each level of wire shelving to settle it onto the clips. To remove the shelves, gently tap the underside with a rubber mallet near each corner to loosen it until it can be lifted out from the uprights.
