Used wire shelving has become extremely popular in both warehouse and personal applications in the past few years. Typically not as durable as industrial steel shelving, wire shelving is extremely easy to assemble and is very customizable. They come in many different widths and depths, and can contain any number of shelves. It is an open style of shelving, meaning that inventory can be accessed from all sides.

Each shelf on used wire shelving contains a circular opening in each corner where the rounded uprights are fed through. Plastic clips are put on each leg of the upright at the same height, and each shelf rests on them. Typically the uprights contain an indent every inch, which the plastic clips secure to. Although no tools are required, a rubber mallet is recommended for gently taping down each level of wire shelving to settle it onto the clips. To remove the shelves, gently tap the underside with a rubber mallet near each corner to loosen it until it can be lifted out from the uprights.

Why buy used wire shelving? As stated previously, this style of shelving is extremely popular. Believe it or not, popularity drives up the price, regardless of the cost of goods sold. Buying new wire shelving will cost significantly more than it should because of this, so you may want to consider buying used.
