New Industrial Stack Racks for Warehouse Storage

Durable, Stackable Racks for Efficient Material Handling

Stack racks are one of the most versatile industrial storage solutions for warehouses and distribution centers. They provide durable bulk storage for a wide range of materials and can be quickly assembled or broken down when not in use. Most models are collapsible and stack up to five units high, helping conserve floor space and increase vertical storage capacity.

These racks are suitable for storing and shipping products and are available in several configurations to meet specific needs. Portable stack racks can be moved by forklift and provide four-sided access with either wood or open decking. Modular stack racks are designed to store long items such as pipes and tubes that are typically loaded by hand. Stackable drum racks offer storage for drums in various sizes and are available in new models only.

Stack racks require little to no maintenance and are ideal for bulk inventory, pallet storage, and seasonal overflow. They offer flexibility in managing space and can help reduce product damage compared to conventional pallet stacking.

In facilities with fluctuating inventory levels, stack racks allow for fast reconfiguration of warehouse layouts. This makes them a cost-effective option for improving storage density, minimizing damage, and reducing the need for replacement pallets.

About Stack Racks

Stack racks are well-suited for portable and temporary pallet storage. Each unit holds a single pallet and can be stacked vertically to increase storage capacity. Racks can also be arranged in rows to support items that need to be laid flat. While this is the least dense form of pallet racking, it provides full accessibility from all four sides, making it ideal for fast material retrieval.

There are two primary styles of stack racks: open deck and wood deck.

  • Open deck racks are designed to support standard pallets only. They feature an open mesh base that is not suitable for loose or small items, which may fall through.

  • Wood deck racks provide a flat, solid surface, making them suitable for irregularly shaped or oversized items that are not placed on pallets.

Both styles are collapsible, allowing the racks to be folded and stored compactly when not in use. This portability supports seasonal storage needs and flexible warehouse layouts. For heavier applications, solid metal decking is also available.

If you're looking to reduce costs, we also offer used stack racks at discounted pricing. Most used equipment is priced at least 40% lower than new and is fully inspected for quality before leaving our facility.

Advantages of Stack Racks

Stack racks, also known as stackable racks or stackable pallets, offer several advantages in various industries and storage environments. Here are some key advantages of using stack racks:

  • Space Optimization: Stack racks are designed to maximize vertical storage. When stacked, they increase storage density without the need for fixed racking systems. This makes them ideal for facilities with changing inventory levels or limited floor space.
  • Flexibility and Versatility: These racks can be easily stacked, nested, or moved to accommodate changing inventory requirements. When not in use, they can be disassembled or collapsed to free up space. This adaptability makes them suitable for seasonal products, bulk inventory, and temporary storage needs.
  • Easy Access: Stack racks allow for direct access to stored items from all sides, eliminating the need to move multiple units to retrieve a single product. This improves picking speed and supports faster inventory management compared to fixed racking systems.
  • Improved Organization: The open design of stack racks enhances visibility and helps with product identification. Optional accessories such as dividers or shelving can support better organization of different SKUs, parts, or materials.
  • Enhanced Protection: Stack racks offer structural stability for stored items, reducing the risk of shifting, crushing, or product damage during stacking. Racks built with appropriate weight capacities can safely handle heavy or irregular loads.
  • Handling Efficiency: These racks are compatible with forklifts and pallet jacks, allowing for easy transport throughout the facility. Their standardized base designs support quick loading, unloading, and repositioning as warehouse layouts evolve.

Stack Rack Applications

Stack racks have a wide range of applications across various industries and storage environments. Some common applications of stack racks include:

  • Warehousing and Distribution: Stack racks are widely used to store palletized goods, bulk materials, containers, and cartons. They help optimize floor space, support better organization, and improve inventory visibility. Their stackable design supports fast order fulfillment and efficient inventory rotation.
  • Manufacturing and Assembly: On production floors, stack racks store work-in-progress (WIP) items, parts, and finished goods. They simplify the movement of materials between workstations or assembly lines and offer quick access to components during manufacturing.
  • Retail and Display: Retailers use stack racks in stockrooms to organize and store merchandise before it reaches the sales floor. They help manage backstock, reduce clutter, and support quick restocking during peak sales periods.
  • Agriculture and Farming: Stack racks are used to transport and store perishable items such as fruits, vegetables, and nursery plants. Their open design allows airflow, which helps protect delicate goods during handling, storage, and delivery.
  • Automotive and Transportation: Automotive manufacturers and service providers use stack racks to handle tires, engine components, body panels, and other parts. Racks improve material flow and part protection, and they are also used for secure cargo storage during transit.
  • Event Management and Exhibitions: Stack racks are used to transport and store signage, booths, promotional displays, and equipment. Their collapsible nature makes them practical for event setups, breakdowns, and repeated use across different locations.
  • Cold Storage and Food Handling: In refrigerated and frozen storage environments, stack racks are used to store meat, seafood, dairy, and other perishables. Racks constructed from appropriate materials can maintain integrity in low-temperature applications and facilitate product rotation.
  • E-commerce and Fulfillment Centers: Fulfillment centers rely on stack racks for efficient product storage, picking, and packing. Their mobility and modular design help adapt quickly to shifting inventory and order volumes, especially during seasonal demand surges.
