About Warehouse Carts

American Surplus has numerous styles of warehouse carts available to fit in every department of your facility. Used utility carts are the most general-purpose warehouse carts ASI offers. They can be used for transporting inventory for stocking, or to carry tools and parts wherever you may need them. Platform trucks feature a large, open deck to move bulky objects easily.

Rolling Z racks, or garment racks, have a 70-inch-tall cross bar to accommodate the storage and transportation of clothing, allowing them to hang neatly for quick access. They are also nestable when not in use for convenient storage. Shelf stock trucks have two to four open shelves for transporting boxes and are ideal for stocking inventory and picking orders.

Bin carts are custom made at American Surplus and feature a double-sided louvered panel affixed to a mobile cart. Hanging bins are added to the panels for separating and sorting tools, parts, and pieces. Ladder carts make stocking and picking even easier by adding a step ladder to the rear of the cart, giving the user a few extra feet of reach without requiring any additional equipment.

Basket carts are ideal for storage and transportation of lightweight materials. They feature open wire basket shelves to allow for easy content inspection. Steel tray carts are used to transport shallow trays for storing flat objects or parts and pieces. They also can be used as convenient mobile drying racks, among other things.

Tote carts allow for the transport of multiple totes at one time, rather than moving them individually by hand. American Surplus has tote carts which can hold up to ten totes at a time, and some even have spring loaded ladders attached to make stocking shelves or picking orders less of a hassle.

Wire carts can be used for transporting inventory, or for long term storage of boxes, tools, or just about anything else. All shelves are fully adjustable to whatever height you like, making storage of various sized items possible. Open decking makes cleaning easy and prevents dust buildup. In addition to our selection of used warehouse carts, we also have hundreds of casters in stock to repair any broken wheels you may have, or to add to other equipment to make them mobile.

With all these used warehouse carts available, and at 40-60% less than purchasing new, American Surplus definitely has something for your facility. Contact a member of our sales team for more information about our current inventory of used warehouse carts, as well as any other warehouse or material handling equipment you may need.

Types of Warehouse Carts

There are several different types of warehouse carts designed to meet specific material handling needs. Each type serves a unique purpose and offers various features to accommodate different tasks within a warehouse or industrial setting. Here are some common types of warehouse carts:

  • Platform Carts: These are flat, wheeled carts with an open platform that can carry a variety of items, from boxes and equipment to larger loads. They come in various sizes and weight capacities.
  • Order Picking Carts: These carts are designed for efficient order fulfillment and often feature shelves, compartments, and bins for organizing and transporting items needed for order assembly.
  • Hand Trucks (Dollies): Hand trucks have a two-wheel design and are used to move heavy or bulky items vertically or horizontally. They come in different styles, such as upright, convertible, and appliance hand trucks.
  • Pallet Jacks: Pallet jacks, also known as pallet trucks or pallet movers, are used to lift and move palletized loads. They have forks that fit under pallets and can lift and transport them within a warehouse.
  • Flatbed Carts: Like platform carts, flatbed carts have an open flat surface but may also include raised sides or a railing to prevent items from falling off during transport.
  • Utility Carts: Utility carts are versatile and can serve a variety of purposes, such as transporting tools, supplies, or equipment. They often have multiple shelves or compartments for organization.
  • Bin Carts: These carts are designed to hold bins, totes, or containers, making them ideal for moving small parts, components, or items that need to be segregated.
  • Panel Carts: Panel carts are designed to transport large, flat items like panels, sheets of material, or doors. They typically have vertical supports and straps to secure the load.
  • Ladder Carts: Ladder carts combine a cart platform with a ladder, allowing for safe and easy access to elevated areas while also providing space for transporting tools or materials.
  • Tilt Trucks: Tilt trucks are larger carts with a tilting mechanism that allows for easy dumping or unloading of bulk materials, such as waste, debris, or loose items.
  • Instrument Carts: These carts are designed to transport delicate or sensitive equipment, often featuring padding, secure compartments, and adjustable dividers.
  • Lift Carts: Lift carts are equipped with a lifting mechanism, such as a hydraulic or pneumatic system, to raise or lower the cart platform, making it easier to load and unload heavy items.
  • Platform Trucks: Platform trucks are heavy-duty carts designed for moving heavy loads over longer distances. They typically have larger wheels and a sturdy construction for durability.

A: ASI carries a wide range of various styles and sizes of warehouse carts depending on your specific application.

Q: What are used warehouse carts and how are they different from new ones?
