Used warehouse shelving encompasses a wide selection of used shelving styles.  Whether storing lightweight or heavy products, American Surplus can design and install an industrial shelving system to organize your storage area.

Used warehouse shelving manufacturers include Triboro, Burroughs, Interlake, Lyons and Penco.   American Surplus stocks these brands along with Husky, Hi-Line and Speedrack.  Design and installation of used warehouse shelving, by trained professionals, is available nationwide.

Used industrial warehouse shelving is the most common type of shelving, and covers a large variety of styles. One of the first options you will be faced with is an open or closed design. Open shelving allows for visibility, and allows for product picking from either side of the shelving. Closed shelving has back panels and side panels, and it keeps products more secure and is more durable. Products can only be picked from the front of closed shelving, so typically they are placed against walls. (click here to view entire article)

A common feature to used industrial steel shelving and many other types of shelving is adjustable shelf heights. This is an extremely valuable feature because it allows for you to add or take away shelves, and increase or decrease their height depending on inventory size. The increments that these shelves adjust at depend on the style of uprights being used, but typically is between 1'' and 3''.

There are three common ways to assemble used steel shelving, nut and bolt, clip, and bolt-less shelving. Nut and bolt shelving uses nuts and bolts to secure each shelf to the uprights, and is typically the heaviest duty of the three. Clip shelving comes in second, with shelves that are secured to the uprights using metal clips. This is quicker to assemble than nut and bolt shelving because clips easily lock into place once the shelf is secure. The style that is easiest to assemble is bolt-less shelving, because shelves just slide into place without clips or bolts. The weight capacity of this style tends to be less than the other styles, but they are great for applications where you need a medium duty shelving unit quickly.

These are just some of the options you have to consider when buying used industrial shelving. You also need to know the weight and size of the product being stored, as well as the height clearance in your storage facility. All of these options can seem overwhelming, and that is where we come in at ASI. Our highly trained sales staff will get to know you and your specific material handling needs before making any recommendations as to what product would be right for you. We are a large operation with a massive inventory, so instead of leading you towards the product we want to sell, we have you lead us to the product that is right for you.
