About Dock Levelers

Used dock levelers at ASI have a capacity of up to 20,000 lbs. and are lifted and lowered hydraulically. All used dock equipment is tested and inspected prior to shipment to ensure we are providing you with a quality used product.

Dock levelers are used when your facility’s loading docks are close to the same height as the floor of the truck. They are used to bridge the gap between the dock and the trailer during loading and unloading. The trailers are not always the same height so the dock leveler moves up or down to accommodate. This allows for forklifts to smoothly transport products in and out of trailers.

Dock levelers, also known as pit levelers, are typically recessed style, meaning they are contained within the recess beneath the dock door and the floor surface. They are typically rated for higher capacities than dock plates and on par with dock boards. Call ASI today; we can help you determine which type of used dock equipment is right for your specific application.

What is the difference between buying new or used dock levelers? Used dock levelers will save you a lot of money but will also contain surface wear. This is nothing to be concerned about because a new dock leveler will have that same wear after being used a few times. It does not compromise the factory rated capacity of the equipment.

Would we recommend buying used? ASI got into the business of selling used equipment to save people money while still providing them with top quality used material handling equipment. We would highly recommend buying used dock equipment. Just make sure you are buying from a trustworthy source that will inspect their used equipment to ensure quality prior to shipment.

Advantages of Mezzanine Stairways

Dock levelers offer many different advantages in commercial loading and unloading operations, including:

  • Increased Efficiency: Dock levelers help to bridge the height difference between the loading dock and the delivery truck, allowing for smooth and efficient loading and unloading of goods. This reduces the time required to load and unload the truck, increasing productivity and reducing labor costs.
  • Improved Safety: Dock levelers provide a safer working environment for employees and reduce the risk of accidents and injuries. They prevent trucks from tipping over or rolling away from the dock, and prevent employees from falling off the dock.
  • Greater Flexibility: Dock levelers allow loading and unloading of various types of vehicles with different bed heights, making them suitable for a variety of trucks and trailers. This flexibility makes them a versatile choice for warehouses and distribution centers.
  • Reduced Maintenance: Dock levelers require minimal maintenance compared to other loading and unloading equipment, reducing repair and replacement costs.
  • Cost-effective: Dock levelers offer an affordable loading and unloading solution that can be customized to fit the specific needs of a business. They also help to improve operational efficiency and reduce labor costs, making them a cost-effective solution for many businesses.
