Used Totes and Bins

Used totes and bins are chosen based on many different applications so the following should be considered prior to the purchase. An ASI technician can assist you in a best fit choice from our inventory.

• What are your needs relative to space and traffic considerations?
• How will the weight be distributed inside the used tote?
• How will the workers handle, move and store the tote?
• What type of material will be stored in tote i.e. corrosive, static build-up?
• Will totes be used in an assembly line?
• Will totes be exposed to extreme ambient temperatures?
• Will totes be used in mobile equipment?
• How will totes be stored? Nest, stack or both?
• Will used totes be used for only internal use or be shipped?
• Will totes require labeling?

Used stacking totes are designed for stacking with ribbed sides and an area for labeling. Totes usually have finger grips or finger openings for lifting and storing. Employee usage should determine type of tote chosen. Also take into consideration how the used tote will be used and stored as indicated above.

Used totes are manufactured in a wide variety of methods and materials. The most common is high density polyethylene or polypropylene and metal. Usually ESD or electrostatic carbon filled totes are designed to disrupt charges that can damage electronic devices.
