Conveyor systems are common methods of handling equipment that moves through manufacturing, assembly and process areas; distribution centers and many other types of business operations. Conveyors operate in two ways: manually or with power assistance. Conveyor systems are designed to carry a multitude of products from very large and bulky products to small high volume products. There are many types of conveying systems to meet various industry applications.

Types of Conveyor:

Accumulating Conveyors allow for the collection of products at a particular point on the conveyor, and are common in grouping and sorting operations.

Automated conveyor systems execute conveying functions automatically, instead of through manual operation, saving time and reducing labor costs.

Belt conveyors, including slider bed and trash conveyor, use a belt to move products through the conveying system. Belt conveyors are ideal for moving light to medium material loads.

Incline/Decline conveyors are conveyors that move products in a upward or downward angle or both.

Gravity conveyors are conveyors on which objects are manually moved by gravity.

Overhead conveyors provide continuous movement of products overhead, as opposed to standard floor conveying systems. Overhead conveyors save space.

Pallet conveyors are conveyors specifically designed to move heavy loads such as tote pans, castings, drums, and loaded pallets.

Roller conveyors, including belt over roller, belt under roller, and line shaft use round metal cylinders called rollers to transport product through the conveying system. Roller conveyors are common in accumulating materials and in converging conveyor systems, in which separate conveyor lines join to form a single conveying line.

Vertical conveyors move products up or down instead of a horizontal movement and are common in applications with limited available space. Reciprocal vertical conveyors move products up or down and return to the initial starting point. Continuous vertical conveyors move materials to different levels without returning to the initial point.

Parts inclines are conveyors that move small parts or scraps from a floor position up to a machine or hopper.
