Cold Rolled Low Profile Construction
Manufactured from sheet metal that is lighter than structural steel. Used Cold rolled steel also has a smooth finish so the mezzanine can be used in a display area. This type of mezzanine is very limited in column spacing, usually 10-15’ and usually not more than 20’. Cold rolled steel mezzanines can meet most capacity load requirements.
Hot Roll Structural – Wide Span Construction
Manufactured with I-beams to maximize capacity and minimize deck profile, will provide a higher clear height, but is much heavier than the other systems resulting in a higher floor load. Used hot rolled mezzanine structures 9wide span) provides the clear space under the mezzanine structure with the fewest columns.
I-Beam/Bar Joist Construction
Manufactured from structural I-beam and bar joists that allow greater column spacing and ease in installing electrical conduit, water pipes, sprinklers and lighting fixtures. Bar joists are open and give an open space identity to the mezzanine. Deck profile is wider reducing the clear height dimension.
