Horizontal carousels consist of a series of bins or carriers that rotate horizontally around a track. The horizontal carousel system of storage saves space, reduces aisles, and increases order picking time.

Used horizontal carousels in stock were manufactured by Diamond Phoenix. Known for their all-steel construction and heavy duty bins, these horizontal carousels save space, reduce labor costs, speed throughout and improve order accuracy.

An operator enters order information into a station in front of the horizontal carousel system. The used carousel then rotates until the right bin is at the operator’s station, reducing the travel time needed for the operator to retrieve or store parts. Horizontal carousels are used for distribution centers that have requirements for small parts. Product can be stored in bins or on shelves. The flexible design allows the shelf levels to adjust. The used horizontal carousel is ideal for non-stop applications such as stockrooms and warehousing. Horizontal carousels are a low maintenance solution to parts storage.

Several orders can be entered into the system. These become a group to create a batch. The operator follows the displayed lights and picks the items in order and places items in a batch station. The carousel then rotates so the operator does not. After completion of the batch, a new batch is entered and the process begins again. Used horizontal carousels allow operators to pick from one carousel while the other carousels are re-positioning.
